2. Like all of you of the conservative persuasion I often get hit with the old, "You're a bigot, You're a racist." Crap. About six years ago our WI governor was faced with a recall election.
3. Governor Walker was putting his foot down in relation to government unions in our state. vis a vis unwanted membership in the unions by some people. You can read about it here, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wisconsin…
4. As a conservative auto shop "Union Free" business owner I for the first time put a political sign, "4x8 Reelect Walker" in front of my shop.
5. The blow back I received was very limited consisting of 7 of the 8 teachers we did work for announcing they would never be back. I told the 7 good luck finding a liberal Auto shop owner!🤣
6. One man, I'll call him Kevin cause that's his name understood where I was coming from and continued to support my business. Kevin moved the next year from a middle school to the High School very close to us.
7. At the start of the '12 fall semester I received a call from one of the Special Ed teachers at Kevin's H.S. She told me that Kevin said she should call me and see if I could help out with one of her students. A young man named Tucker.
8. Tucker was functioning pretty well with autism and his favorite thing was CARS especially RACE CARS! His teacher asked if it would be possible for Tucker to come over once or twice a week for a one on one auto shop class.
9. Told her I would do that and all the arrangements were made. Well Tucker gave it his all but he just wasn't cut out for the auto industry. After a couple weeks our "Class" turned into BS sessions while I took him to lunch.
10. We talked about all kinds of stuff and it finally came out he liked to cook! I asked him if he thought he could cook for a living after H.S. He said in his usual scream"I never thought of that!"
11. Well as it turns out Tucker went to and graduated from the two year culinary program at the local tech college and he is now an up and coming chef who stops by in his uniform every now and then just to say hi.
12. All because a bigoted @realDonaldTrump supporter cared.
