LBC exclusive: Labour’s new guidelines on anti-Semitism.

Key paragraphs:

7). Contentious views will not be treated as Antisemitism unless.... evidence of anti-Semitic intent.

9). Labour adopts just seven of the 11 IHRA examples of anti-Semitism.
So the missing IHRA examples of anti-Semitism. The big ones.

- Denying the Jewish people their right to self-determination, eg by claiming that the State of Israel is a racist endeavour.

- Drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis.
The other 2:
- applying double standards by requiring of it behaviour not expected or demanded of any other democratic nation.
- accusing Jewish citizens of being more loyal to Israel, or to the alleged priorities of Jews worldwide, than to the interests of of their own nations.
Should point out, Labour source says those omissions covered off in later paragraphs.
Jewish Labour Movement not happy. They have written to Labour general secretary Jennie Formby asking her to abandon the new definition. “We cannot give anti-Semites a get out of jail free card.”
Worth noting on paragraph 7 from original guidelines. Labour previously worked off Lord Macpherson’s definition of racism.

“A racist incident is any incident which is perceived to be racist by the victim or any other person.”

Not if the perpetrator intended to be racist.
Labour source: “These guidelines are more extensive, comprehensive and practical to our purposes of both guidance for discipliunary purposes and political education for our membership."
