It’s not unusual for someone to reach out to me for advice on their portfolio, like this one:

"In your opinion, what is the best way to showcase the process? How much of it do you want to see, sketches, blockframes, etc.? Is the final product more important?"
My response to those hoping to land a great UX design job:

The most important thing is you communicate you're capable of doing the job the hiring manager is looking for.
If the manager is any good at hiring, they're looking to see that you have the necessary skills, knowledge, and experience for the specific position they're hiring for.

Now, if you know what the position is, you want to tailor your portfolio to that position.
You want to show you have the requisite skills. You want to show how you've applied the experience you've gleaned from previous work. And you want to show what you learned on every project, that's relevant to the position.
Often you won't know what the position is. In that case, you want to focus on work you'd like to do. What skills do you have that make you ideal for that work?
What experience have you gleaned that will help you in doing more work like that? What have you learned that you'll get to apply to that future work?
By focusing on a particular position or on the specific work you'd like to do, you'll avoid the mistake of making something that is so generic it doesn't say anything about what you're capable of.
