Look at this comparison. I get dozens of requests every week from followers asking me to colorize specific pictures. I received this one over a year ago and decided to restore it. Some time later, I was informed that the same photo had already been colored by another artist.
Very often we feel inspired and motivated to work on the same pictures, and this is perfectly normal. For that reason, I decided to finish and publish the photo on my page. Today, for some unknown reason, I received a couple of messages from people accusing me of plagiarism.
As you can see, the two photos are the same, they registered the same scene, and was taken inside the same church. Still, our versions (mine is the one on the right) are completely different, as each artist interprets the photograph differently.
I used a modern photo (left) of the same church as a reference to colorize the ornaments and painting on the ceiling, just as I believe that was made by the other artist.
It is inevitable that at some point more than one colorist decides to work on a photo that has already been made by someone else.
I would like to use the opportunity to clarify the misunderstanding and tell the person who colored the photo of the left that if they felt disrespected in any way, I am more than available (as I already have done) to talk.
Thanks for understanding.
Have you ever imagined what the real world would be like if people acted in it with the same bravery and courage as they do on the internet? There is a thirst for accusing people and making them feel bad that it is almost shocking.
My intention is not to determine which one is better, but rather to clarify a situation.
And remember: everyone you meet, no matter how successful the person looks on the outside, is fighting a battle that you know nothing about. an aggressive comment on the internet may be enough to destroy someone's life.

the human mind is a dangerous weapon. maybe the pleasure you feel in making the other person feel bad is a thousand times less intense than the pain that person is feeling.
I always try to keep this in mind when I comment something on the internet. our words are powerful and often dangerous.
I know that I can count on you no matter what. You have no idea how much your support means to me. Thank you.
