What reporters miss: Cespedes often refuses to speak to Mets. He forces them to go thru “his people.” They tiptoe around dark narcissist pouter who does what he wants, when he wants. He’s fluent in English & older than claimed @Joelsherman1 @AnthonyDiComo newsday.com/sports/basebal…
Sandy Alderson & 3 assistants knew the psychological damage when they signed him. Callaway has to wait to read the news. It’s not poor communication from management. It’s the player, himself self anointed El Potentate being the “all powerful.” He is a cancer of team discipline
Even in 2nd language, it appears Cespedes is not deceptive about his heels. He could be mistaken or ill advised, but he’s not deceptive. Deception is found in intent. Ex: his fleeing Cuba story w his son. He’s not telling the truth via withheld info. 90% of deception is this way
If you believe what another tells you, it will not show as deception. It is within one’s intebt to deceive or deliberately mislead we spot deception.
