James Baldwin once wrote "Not everything that is faced can be changed. But nothing can be changed until it's faced." Let's face head-on that unemployment is 2X higher for blacks than whites in TX. That white families have 10X more wealth than black families in America.
That pregnant black women are dying at 2X the rate of pregnant white women. That black kids in preK-2nd grade were 5X more likely than white kids to receive a suspension. For K-12, 4X more likely. That by age 14, 1 out of 4 black kids have experienced a parent being imprisoned.
