Going through some old CST reports. This one on antisemitic discourse in Britain in 2010. Oh. Look who's putting in an appearance...
No further details in the report but I’m assuming it’s a reference to this.
Actually, there is quite a bit more detail later in the report.
The explicit Zionism-Nazism analogies being drawn here, with Corbyn presiding over the event, perhaps suggest another reason why the Labour leadership wishes to drop that aspect of the IHRA antisemitism definition from its guidelines.
Also worth noting that the Scottish PSC, a key organising group of the event that Corbyn chaired, appears in the same @CST_UK 2010 antisemitic discourse report for publishing an Iranian Holocaust Denial competition cartoon on its website.

Corbyn’s PR team have released an additional section of *that* speech which was edited out of the previously available video version. Like so much of what they do, it makes things worse rather than better.
The reason being it provides a second example (the other that we know of was a hustings event during the 2015 leadership contest) of Corbyn referring to Jewish “members” (plural) of Lloyd George’s wartime coalition government at the time of the Balfour Declaration.
The reason this is problematic is that there was in fact only one Jewish member of that government (Edwin Montagu). @AldermanGeo, in what now reads as a pretty decent piece of political prognostication, considered Corbyn’s mistake back in 2015. thejc.com/comment/column…fit-1.67925

Former Defence and Foreign Secretary, Lord Carrington has died. bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politi…
I suspect most of the news coverage will focus on his Falklands resignation. But he also played an interesting (and not always very admirable) role in British policy towardsa the Middle East and in UK- Israeli relations.
Perhaps most notoriously, he was a determined and active opponent of the idea of a British memorial to victims of the Holocaust. He was, thankfully, overruled by Heseltine and Thatcher on this issue.

My company was raided. It should have been a straightforward matter. But the #MetPolice & #LBRUT forgot to seize my computer & came back to do a 2nd raid. The search warrant didn't permit a second entry, however, #LBRUT entered unlawfully

I just got back from seeing "The Last Jedi," and it feels like it delivered on the promise of the original more than any movie in the series. But I also think many of the analyses of it (esp the ones around masculinity) missed half the story. (Spoilers follow: mute if you want)
Each of the characters felt like they were following a very different arc, and trying to combine all of them into a single story misses many of the best parts.
Poe is the one following the classic "masculinity" thread: he spends a great deal of the movie being a hazardous idiot, more concerned with glory and "doing something" than with thinking through consequences.
