There's a need for a pseudo-anonymous identity layer, where people can confirm the authenticity of the source but not necessarily identify them
Anonymity provides advantages e.g. being able to speak freely about guarded or controversial topics, but also allows for lying and trolling
Full identification demonstrates credibility, but also can leave someone targeted or guarded about things they don't want association with

People on the internet try to side step this by using anonymous accounts and say things like "I worked at a place for X years" or "I'm an expert in Y" but right now it's impossible to actually prove that

Exactly why this pseudo-anonymous layer needs to exist. Question is what it will take for people to believe that the platform is being truthful in providing authenticity.
