Police should serve and protect, not this, never this:

"Officer Corey McArthur beat a 17-year-old mental health patient who was handcuffed to the bed. Apparently, the teen was trying to self-harm so McArthur decided to do the harm himself." via @_SJPeace_
We dont need to assume. The fact that they dont report it is proof of their complicity. If I punched that cop in the face like that on camera I would be facing felony assault charges. Officers who see something but dont say anything are part of the problem
I have nothing but respect and admiration for police officers who do their jobs. Good community policing can have profound impacts on communities and the lives of individuals. We must work to engender a police culture that doesnt turn a blind eye to abuse. 👮🏾‍♂️👮🏻‍♀️

•For decades Turkey has labeled all Kurds in its territory and on its borders terrorists (PPK(Turkey), YPG(Syria), and Iraqi Kurds)

•Syrian civil war starts and Iraqi Kurds and YPG are strategic allies to US fighting ISIS in Iraq and ISIS/Assad in Syria
•Turkey saber rattles at Iraqi Kurds and YPG but not much else since they are important US allies ans US troops are embedded with both forces for training and logistical support.

Past few days:

• US backed Kurdish forces in Syria major victory against remnants of ISIS.
• Turkey announces major offensive against Kurdish PKK in their territory (previously threatening the same to YPG)

• Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan/Trump have phone call

• Trump withdraws US from Syria without even consulting Pentagon or Secretaries of relevant depts

•Officer David Schwartz punched 19 year-old Terry Whitehead in the face
•Terry was handcuffed & had been pepper sprayed
•Schwartz’s punishment? He was fired. No charges. No fine. Simply fired.

This is assault & such violent people need to go to prison
Terry Whitehead has filed suit against the officers who beat him.

Turns out they beat him for his “crime” of covering up the window with toilet paper while he used the restroom for privacy😑

Let’s hope to God the courts gives him justice.
