For a while, I’ve been thinking what people like myself have to contribute to the @OSF effort My research is 80% methods/theory. My code is in my github and my articles have theorems/proofs in them or references to them so that I know what I’m working on well… *should* work 2/6
But, for a while, I’ve felt a little bit dismayed (at sometimes powerless<-- pun!) when I meet with motivated researchers who want to improve their methods/stats chops but just balk at the sheer amount of work they’d need to put on to learn how to code, do simulations, etc. 3/6
This is where people like myself (and others) can contribute. If we really want this movement to succeed, we need to make our methodologies as accessible to others as we can. And if sometimes these are point-and-click interfaces, let us try and create a repository 4/6
