"I have been called racial slurs many times since I moved to US. I was once even punched in the face because I am a “f-cking foreigner.” But as traumatizing as such incidents may be to non-black racial minorities, itss grotesque to compare them to what happened to black people."
I think @PrajCK makes a key point, one I've been trying to make but failing.

If we are going to have a double standard on race..fine. But the double standard really needs to be: African Americans...and everyone else.

Others face prejudice...but its simply not the same.
In an ideal world, we get rid of all these double standards.

But structural racism is real. And structural racism is, for the most part, about African Americans.

We can't blind ourselves to that.
But...THIS IS KEY: "This approach may also help the Sarah Jeongs of the world see that whites do not automatically have privilege over non-whites..."
"...: it is lunacy to assert that their race alone makes white Appalachians privileged over many second-generation Asian-Americans, whose parents were given visas because they were among the most talented doctors, engineers, and scientists in their countries of origin."
I have experienced racism in my life. Quite a bit, actually. But to say that because of that, I was less privileged than poor whites growing up without good educational systems, a good family structure, and any hope of long term success?

That is insane.
In short...the Left keeps on telling us our approach to racism should be nuanced.

But along comes the Jeongs of the world...and then the Left tells us everything is black and white, without any shades of gray.

And they wonder why we don't take them seriously.
I think this thread from @Noahpinion is fascinating too, in a different way. It shows that privilege can mean a lot of different things, depending on the issue at hand.
