Soo...apart from #BattleForAzeroth being released this week, we have another treat for you...
the last few weeks/months have been very busy for us...
...we released 94 alpha versions, implementing a few small and one huge feature...
... commits from 14 (!!) developers went into this, highest amount of contributions we ever had...
This is aura updating. Now live in WeakAuras 2.7.0. 🔥
huge shoutout to emptyrivers who developed this and contributed it to the WeakAuras project!
other new features include:
* a War Mode load condition
* an "Insufficient Resources" condition (color differently when not enough rage etc)
* a group filter to only watch certain units in a group (only track your hots on tanks etc)
* a range check condition for spells/items

Last week made 19 years that I survived my suicide attempt. At the hospital I found out that I had been within five minutes of losing my life. Now it makes sense that these last two weeks have been a bit trying for me. I didn't realize I was coming up on that anniversary
I am in a much better place than I was back then but I still struggle. What I realized over the last few weeks is the tools that I have used to cope all these years have been to suppress my issues rather than to deal with them. I realized there is no shame in asking for help.
I figured out I can't change things & people but I can let it go & I can change my reaction & I can change my perspective on life. I just need to finally get the tools to help me get there. I want to be able to lead my best life possible & to enjoy it. I now know I deserve it .

🦉Heard a barred owl @ 530am.

Normal - I've just never heard them so close to dawn...

This is one of those #birdvisits that holds personal symbolism for me...and maybe for you too.
The last few weeks (months?) have had me feeling like a different person.

Too much negative energy.

I had just been thinking about anxiety & that I needed to meditate more - reconnect w my spiritual side, when I heard the owl today...
Barred Owls' eyes are dark brown (like mine), not yellow like most owl’s eyes.
For me, they represent my deep Spiritual connection.

Anxiety can (and does) cloud everything. It's like trying to see (or think) through foggy glass.

This owl reminds me to keep my vision clear...

I haven't talked a whole ton about #BattleForAzeroth (partly because I moved across the country and that has consumed a lot of my time) but I did want to talk about it today.

This is gonna be a bit of tweet chain so I hope you guys will listen and stick around.
BfA has problems, but it certainly isn't the death of the game, or anything made with malicious intent.

The issues are relatively easy fixes (from a design stand point) So let's break down what I think is wrong with BfA and how @WarcraftDevs might fix them.
Also before I start this list, I've been logging in like every day. On monday night I stayed up till 3AM getting my +10 done for Mythic +. I'm very much enjoying BfA. I just know it can be better.

For the last 24 hours I've been texting & calling with refugees in Libya. 500 are apparently stuck in a Tripoli prison w/o food & water after heavy fighting broke out two days ago. They say their guards ran away, leaving them alone.
These refugees are men, women & children. They tried to cross the Mediterranean earlier this year, but were found by Italian boats, who turned them over to the EU-backed Libyan coastguard, who put them in prison. The conditions were already terrible before the fighting started.
Oh the phone earlier I could hear children crying & what sounded like bombing in the distance. The refugees say everyone's incredibly frightened. "We hear machine guns, tanks, big bombs, last night from the roof it was all fire."

Last night, the SEC rejected an ETF proposal. It wasn’t the CBOE-backed proposal that has gotten people hyped, but a Winklevoss-Gemini proposal. Still, there are some interesting takeaways for understanding the potential for other on-deck ETF proposals. Quick summary: /1
2/ First, a primer on why there has been so much buzz on a bitcoin ETF for the last few weeks. In short, it’s about accessibility to institutional investors and another step in the maturation of the crypto asset class as a whole.
3/ Second, @AureliusBTC did a fantastic job TL;DRing this proposal rejection. One major difference between this one and the VanEck/SolidX is who they’re aimed at. Winklevoss ETF priced at 0.1 BTC for retail, VanEck/SolidX at 25 BTC just for institutional.

I keep thinking back to a discussion a few months on reddit about THE BELGARIAD. Several comments were made about it being cliche and pedestrian, and someone said, “Yeah, it’s a fine story, but it’s never going to be a classic.”
And all I could think to respond was, “It’s over thirty years later and we’re still talking about it. How is that NOT ‘a classic’?
But that got me thinking- I cite THE BELGARIAD (and THE MALLOREON, its sequel series) as one of my influential works. But what is that influence? I know I’ve read the whole series several times. My copies of the books are in terrible shape.
