Why was Brett Kavanaugh, during his tenure in George W. Bush’s White House, in communication with The Federalist Society’s Leonard Leo using his government email account?

Kavanaugh is a thirty-year member of The Federalist Society, who claimed to not fully understand the organization under questioning from Senator Durbin in 2004.
Kavanaugh’s Whitewater team partner, Assistant Attorney General for the DOJ’s Criminal Division Brian Benczkowski, was less clear with Senator Durbin.
Benczkowski also appears to, like Kavanaugh, side with Republican presidents regarding executive privilege, but I digress.
From 2003 through 2006, Kavanaugh held three positions in George W. Bush’s White House. In one of these roles, he worked on “the nomination and confirmation of federal judges.”
judiciary.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/… This 1,231 page document was produced by the George W. Bush library, under the watchful eye of Don McGahn’s attorney, Bill Burck. On July 10, 2018, The Federalist Society’s Leonard Leo said that McGahn was “at the epicenter” of Kavanaugh’s nomination.
Page 400 of the document is an email from Kavanaugh to Leo. The subject is a Legal Times article, “Supreme Seat Up For Grabs?” in which Kavanaugh’s mentioned.
Deeper into the document is an email from The Federalist Society’s Joel Pardue, with the subject, “Pryor Prejudice,” regarding the confirmation process for a Bush appeals court nominee, William Pryor.
There’s also an email from Dina Powell (who, incidentally, went with Kushner on his secretive trip to Riyadh last year while RDIF CEO Kirill Dmitriev was present) to Kavanaugh regarding Mitch McConnell’s frustration with the delay in confirming Bush’s nominees.
There’s also a draft letter Kavanaugh wrote to Schumer on behalf of Alberto Gonzales regarding Supreme Court nominees.
There’s also an email from the Christian Coalition sent directly to a Bush staffer email account.
What I find very interesting here is that The Federalist Society’s Joel Pardue sent Kavanaugh an email with an attachment that appears to be a delineation of responsibilities regarding a judicial nominee media blitz.
Kavanaugh was delegated the duty to designate media representatives to attend confirmation hearings. Leonard Leo also had responsibilities.
Given Kavanaugh’s official communications with members of The Federalist Society and the importance of his role(s) in the Bush White House, I think it’s absolutely imperative that all of his records from that time period are released...
...not only to Senate Committee on the Judiciary members, but to the public as well.
