Florida mass shootings

8/26/18 Jacksonville Landing, 4 killed, 8 injured (developing)
2/14/18 Marjory Stoneman HS, Parkland: 17 killed, 17 injured
6/5/17 Fiamma, Orlando: 5 killed
1/6/17 Fort Lauderdale airport: 5 killed, 6 injured
6/12/16 Pulse Orlando: 49 killed, 53 injured
Note, these don't include two recent shootings:

8/24/18 Raines HS football game, Jacksonville: 1 dead, 2 injured
8/17/18 Dwyer HS football game, Wellington: 2 shot
And this is the grim milestone, Florida. I can't keep track of mass shootings in the state and the number of them since 2016 exceeds the character limit of Twitter

6/11/18 Orlando apartment complex: 4 children, plus the shooter

According to local reports, shooting happened at the Madden 19 Tournament at the GLHF Game Bar at Jacksonville Landing. This UNCONFIRMED YouTube link ALLEGEDLY captures the sound of the shooting of at least a dozen shots

So what's the big picture of all these mass shootings? That's hard to tell. While they certainly seem more frequent in recent years, Florida's violent crime rate has fallen overall, # of murders is fairly constant. Last year was the 4th lowest murder rate since 1971
We might just be in a world of bizarre extremes, where it's actually statistically safer but the periods of danger are horrible orgies of violence.
Gov. Scott has been through this drill over and over and over and over and over again
As noted in the first tweet, the casualties for today's shooting were "developing."

It now looks as if three (not 4) are dead and it includes the shooter. 11 more were injured
