The liquidity crunch that Eth faced over the past several months has given me pause about investing further in *any* altcoin (regardless of its fundamentals). One of the best early advantages of Eth was getting listed on Coinbase when the space of investable coins was small.
Any high marketcap coin (Cardano, EOS, Stellar, and so on) is just uninvestable at this point merely because of liquidity issues. The BitMEX Eth future just showed everyone how dangerous it is for assets that are hard to short.
Eth probably barely crosses the threshold of "liquid enough" due to its early Coinbase listing and joins Bitcoin as the only two liquid coins today.
