In 2011, Hillary Clinton was having trouble with her unsecure, private email system. She joked with a State Department staffer that it "Must be the Chinese!" hacking her.
In April 2014 Hillary told an audience that “China and Russia …. were going after the personal emails of people who worked in the State Department.”
Today, @washingtonpost is covering for Clinton, attacking POTUS with this headline: "Trump, without citing evidence, says China hacked Hillary Clinton’s emails"
But in October 2015, @AP reported that "Russia-linked hackers tried at least 5 times to pry into…Clinton's private email account while she was secretary of state.…
"...Security researchers who analyzed the malicious software in September 2011 said that infected computers would transmit information from victims to at least 3 server computers overseas, including 1 in Russia" apnews.com/9160a25f39e145…
In May 2015, former Deputy CIA Director Michael Morell was asked about Clinton’s email. He said “foreign intelligence services, the good ones, have everything on any unclassified network that the government uses.” politico.com/story/2015/05/…

China is definitely a "good one."
In September 2015, @EliLake and @joshrogin wrote together that "Outside experts assume Clinton's server was hacked." bloomberg.com/view/articles/…
They noted that Secretary of State John Kerry said in August 2015 that "It is very likely" and "It's very possible" that China and Russia were reading his emails. cbsnews.com/news/john-kerr…
The problem with Hillary's "no evidence of hacking" defense is that none may exist. "[C]yber experts are saying that there is no way she could know whether her account was ever compromised by hackers," @NatashaBertrand wrote in March 2015. businessinsider.com/hacker-hillary…
At @WIRED, @bobmcmillan wrote that "Hillary Clinton says her email was secure; she can't know" wired.com/2015/03/hillar…
"It is almost certain that at least some of the emails hosted at clintonemails[dot]com were intercepted," security expert and developer @nikcub told @Gawker in March 2015 gawker.com/how-unsafe-was…
Writing for @AP, @KenDilanianNBC detailed how "A February 2014 email from SECNAP reported that malicious software based in China 'was found running an attack against' Clinton’s server. In total, Senate investigators have found records describing 3 such attempts linked to China,…
"…one based in Germany and one originating in South Korea. The attacks occurred in 2013 & 2014. ... Any hackers who got access to her server in 2013 or 2014 could have stolen a trove of sensitive email traffic involving the foreign relations of the" U.S. apnews.com/5ad0f6bb57eb48…
In short, natsec & cyber security expert agree with Obama’s former Defense Intelligence Agency director @GenFlynn that the odds foreign countries hacked Clinton’s server are “Very high" because "They’re very good at it. China, Russia, Iran, potentially the North Koreans."
Flynn said that on April 6, 2015, and it was just common knowledge then, not evidence of treasonous collusion with Russia. Trump didn't launch his campaign until June 2015.
