Utter trash written by someone who is absolutely clueless about history or recent historical Genetic studies. False and illiterate historical claims(which I show below). Equally illiterate and clueless is this tweet. No facts. No objectivity. Only false claims and Hindu hatred(1)
2) No, Genetic studies make no such claim and prove no such thing. You (and the author) have not bothered to read anything and lack basic comprehension . Recent Genetic studies say Harappan BLOOD runs through veins of BOTH North Indians and South Indians

3) This is the most recent genetic paper written by world's renowned experts across various academic disciplines . It says the Harappan component ("Indus Periphery) among ANI(Ancestry North Indian) is 72% and ASI(Ancestral South Indian) is 39%

4) So, this proves

1) Harappan blood runs through the veins of BOTH North Indians AND South Indians

2)If anything, it is slightly higher among North Indians (72% ANI as against 39% ASI).

3) The authors at "The Hindu" are illiterates and don't know what they are talking about

1) Actually sir,

Bhatt Vahi(Guru Kian Sakhian) is dated to 1790. Not exactly a contemporary source. Yet, Bhatt Vahi is not considered by scholars as an authentic document. There is only a modern manuscript available. Older copies are "lost". It says Patna is on banks of Yamuna
2. Bhatt Vahi was originally written in Bhattakri script. In was transliterated into Gurmukhi in 1868. However, both these versions no longer exist. What exists is a so called modern "copy"

3. According to Sikh Scholar Pal Singh Purewal, there are internal conflicts in the dates of this texts. He says these dayes are concocted.

According to Balwant Singh, the fate of Guru Kian Sakhian hangs in balance as a genuine source.

The wire historian @iamrana posts a picture of a man tied to a British cannon and claims he is a Muslim "freedom fighter" Maulavi Muhammad Baqar.

The article even claims that description of the painting reads "Baqar tied to a cannon". Is is true?

2. Here are some facts:

1)This painting was painted in 1890, NOT 1884
2)The name of the painting is NOT "suppression of Indian revolt".
3) The description of painting reads "blowing from guns in British India". There is no mention of any Maulvi or 1857

3. Maulvi Baqar was a spy and not a "freedom fighter" as the article claims. And British did NOT tie him to a cannon and blow him up. There is no record that British tied people to cannons in 1857. No mention of 1857 in the painting or the description

There is no such thing as "Urdu grammar".Even the word Urdu as a language did not exist until 1800. Before 1800, Urdu itself was referred to as "Hindi".Urdu is Hindi in Arabic script without Tatsamas

Hindi is written in Nagari which was used even before birth of Islam.
2. The word Urdu as a language first appears in the couplet of poet Mashafi (c.1800). Before this poet, Urdu itself as a name of language was was unheard of

3. It takes a special kind of idiocy to claim that Hindi adopted Devanagari from Marathi. Until recently, Marathi used to be written only in Modi script. It was in 1917 that Bombay presidency officially adopted Devanagari for convenience and uniformity

I'm trying to get through this interesting yet flawed essay on Lara Croft and it's prompting so many distracting thoughts that I can't focus on it, which means it's time to do #IanLivetweetsHisResearch.
(No, this does not mean I'm abandoning the other thread on The Reactionary Mind, I'm just doing a lot of research in tandem these days. Normally I wouldn't start a new thread before completing the current one, but I'll never get through this essay if I don't.)

STORY DEVELOPING: occasionally rewriting a horrible codebase is the right decision
when a codebase was written by someone who gave absolutely 0 Fs, don't subject yourself to swimming in a hot pile of flaming poop. If you agree to work with it, you own that codebase. Don't be a victim or a cliche..plan your rewrite CAREFULLY and then start the hell over.
If you don't have a list of specific reasons identifying exactly why the existing codebase is unworkable, you're not ready to start-over.

i am reading an arc of a friend's novel, and said book is a kink-oriented romance novel. now, sadly these days kink and romance makes people think of 50 shades of grey, and i'm sorry for that cos the books are hella dangerous in portraying kink.
so many of the core tenets of what bdsm is to me...based on my early reading on the scene before i dove in...are on display in this novel.

there's a load of focus on consent. risk awareness. communication. limits. everything. safe words come into play.
