1/ A few years ago, a GOP pundit insisted to me that there was no way Elizabeth Warren could’ve risen to Harvard Law on her merits. He was sure she got hired bc of claims of Native Am heritage.

Total BS. @AnnieLinskey has the astonishingly complete story: bostonglobe.com/news/nation/20…
If there’s a way that a fair-minded person can fail to be convinced by the ultra deep reporting of this article, I can’t imagine it.
Huge kudos to @elizabethforma for the courage to put everything on record this transparently, and to @AnnieLinskey & @BostonGlobe for reporting this so thoroughly & compellingly. Plus, this article is worth it for the vintage photos alone.

I remember when a Massachusetts senator ran for president against a disastrous Republican incumbent and got relentlessly smeared—but the decisive debunking of the smear didn’t come out until October 14 of the election year. Glad we’re moving faster now.

A great aspect of @AnnieLinskey’s article: the explanation of how affirmative action worked in faculty hiring. There’s a white-conservative fantasy that AA means hiring unqualified people. But docs here show AA as affirmatively looking for “equal or better” minority candidates.
There’s so much good reporting here. Read it all. But if you don’t, know this: the claims alluded to by Trump’s “Pocahontas” smear have been definitively eviscerated. The remaining tatters are nothing more than Trumpian racism. This debate is over.
