Awaiting a verdict in the NYPD bribery trial of Jeremy Reichberg and ex Deputy Inspector Jimmy Grant.
Surprise split verdict. Reichberg found guilty of 5 out of 6 counts. Grant found NOT GUILTY on all counts.
One juror said she was “absolutely” stunned the government brought charges against Grant. “It looked like they were rushing,” she said of the case against the Deputy Inspector.

Judge Caproni slams Buffalo developer Lou Ciminelli with a tough sentence of 2 yrs and 4 months. Ciminelli was convicted of rigging a bid for Cuomo’s Buffalo Billion economic initiative.
Judge does grant Ciminelli pending appeal, acknowledging that the legal theory in the Buffalo Billion case is a tough one.
“Mr. Ciminelli you can cock your head and look like you don’t know what I’m talking about but you do know what I’m talking about. That’s why you deleted your Gmail account!” Judge Caproni said.

Bamse means 'teddy bear' in Norwegian. He belonged to the captain of a ship (Thorod) that was requistioned by the navy as a coastal patrol vessel. After the occupation of Norway the ship escaped to the UK.
Bamse took his duties seriously standing guard at the forward gun turret even during heated battle. He was fitted with a special helmet for protection.

Given that EU has already said it wants an all-weather backstop, this can only be a mechanism that operates on mutual consent
And even if EU were to give that consent upon entry into force of a new future relationship, hard to see how they would not insist on an automatic return into force of the backstop should that future relationship cease to apply
All of which would render the backstop just as effective as the current, all-weather proposal.

So a review mechanism would be only of use in getting CON MPs onside for ratification

Sharing my story as a black woman who grew up in predominately white evangelical churches with a black pastor for a dad makes a lot of people uncomfortable. They're immediately on-guard about what they think I'm trying to get from them:
They're afraid I want to exert some sort of power/superiority over them (perhaps as a "privileged victim"). They're afraid I want them to blindly assent to my authoritative opinions on their level of privilege. They're afraid that I want to sneak attack them with Marxist ideology
Here's what I want: my siblings in Christ to consider that their experiences of evangelical culture or not universal. That our unique stories and experiences can serve to *amplify* the fact that the saving power of Christ comes to infiltrate every tribe, tongue, and nation.

The arms at the time of the Constitution were the equivalent of what government arms were. This is indisputable. Thinking the Founders could not foresee that arms would change over time is ludicrous because there had already been changes during their lifetimes.
The Second Amendment gives citizens the right to keep and bear arms that are equal in capability of current arms. Arms refer to individual arms, rifles and pistols, which is why things like cannons were not listed as part of the amendment.
The well regulated militia refers to the minute men of the time, the equivalent of what we call the National Guard today, but also for the unregulated militia which by US law is any male between the age of 17-45.
