Started digging in to React today. Finally started clicking a bit for me.

Any good courses/resources for people like me who aren’t actually great programmers?
(Programming is a tool for me...I don’t program for kicks...so things like equating concepts/theories of other languages doesn’t work for me.)
I do best by learning with real projects.

“Let’s walk through every aspect of this language and build an extensive foundation of knowledge before we build anything functional” makes my brain hurt.

Was looking into a way to let you @-mention @lasertweets in response to a tweet and have it auto-generate the URL for you...but everything I'm reading says that's against Twitter TOS.
I *think* I'd have to build a whole system where you have to grant permission to a "Laser Tweets" app, and then monitor your account for "@lasertweets" mentions from you and then basically DM you the URL.
Regardless, it's wayyyy more hassle than I imagined it'd be.

This almost feels like something where there some be a hosted service that already handles most of this.

I tried Zapier, but no go (thanks to the Twitter TOS).

1/ Understanding why customers cancel may be one of the most frustrating parts of building a company.

Asking users during the cancellation process why they're cancelling can be really useful, but data is only as useful as the action you take on it.
2/ Lots of SaaS companies have a simple form on their cancellation page that asks the users why they're cancelling...but almost nobody does anything with the data.

It may get piped in to a spreadsheet somewhere or sent to someone's inbox, but then it just fades away.
3/ In addition, even if you're collecting reasons, knowing which reasons to pay attention to is many times nearly impossible.

Sure, maybe most people are cancelling b/c "It's too expensive", but is that actually who's causing the most lost revenue?

For nearly 5 years Baremetrics has relied almost exclusively on a single channel for growth: content marketing. It was a natural outpouring of us targeting "founders". It was easy and in the early days, it worked well, bringing us to where we are today.

This article on impact, or not, of "fake news" appeared in @nytimes couple days ago. While I respect author's point re needing evidence/data & not speculation -- the data provided doesn't answer questions on the impact of fake news. This is important /1

There are three broad characterizations that miss the mark in this analysis:

1-- that the content in question is political advertising or comparable to political advertising. It is not. The content in question was often not branded political advertising.

The content was video, visual, memetic, & text elements contributing to narrative themes, conspiracies, character attacks. It wasn't sponsored by a candidate or PAC, so it was absent the label that allows people to reject or accept its source as easily. This difference matters /3

We tell everyone, leave your own tweets at the top when you log off. Not just your pinned tweet, your current stuff. I usually hit the top two in my mentions. This is free advertising. In weird twitter it's currency

Buffer is a great tool for scheduling tweets. There are a ton of apps that let you post to multiple platforms but with Buffer the posts don't go out at the same time. You can also schedule tweets at optimum times based on your when your followers are online
