Here's the thing, even if she had called the police, they would've blown her off. I've seen them blow off rapes all day, everyday. I did my job, collected the evidence but I was always taken aback by the lack of urgency, the shrugged shoulders from law enforcement inre to rape.
As a resident and an attending I've collected hundreds of rape kits. I just recently came to find out none of them were tested. I got a hit on a rape kit I collected when I was an intern a few months before the statute of limitations ran out. 20 years. 20 fucking years.
This guy was out there raping women for 20 years, how do I know that? Because the prosecutor told me they had multiple DNA hits on this guy. She wanted me to testify if it went to trial because my chart was the most legible, lol.
He must have pleaded guilty because I never had to testify. I bought a suit. Any way, we do our women wrong, we disbelieve them, put them through horrible indignities then blow off their testimony.
Dr. Ford should be allowed testify if she so desires, tell her story to the Senate. If Kavanaugh has an answer I'd sure like to hear it. I for one will think it will go down way different than the Anita Hill/Clarence Thomas hearings.
When writing an emotional thread it takes me some time to consolidate my thoughts. Seeing all these women and finding out that I put them through an invasive exam for naught infuriates me. Let's hope Dr Ford's invasive exam will yield better results.
