I don't know why being unable to put a book down is seen as such an accolade. How about: I had to keep putting it down so I could think about it, savour the words and the thoughts that are their children.
Or: this book is woven into the fabric of my life.
Or: I savour the deferred pleasure of reading this book at the end of each day. I read a few pages every night, until my eyes close and the book slides into my dreams.
Or: I read this book slowly and carefully because I didn't trust it.
Or: I’ve tried leaving this book so many times, but I keep coming back, god help me.
Or: I read this book slower and slower. I never wanted it to end. I've put the last word to one side.
