As I sit here in Twitter Land, I find it rather sobering that 47% of LABOUR voters have not heard of John McDonnell, 46% have not heard of Tom Watson, 56% have not heard of Keir Starmer, 48% of Shami Chakrabarti and 80% have not heard of Barry Gardiner
I'd also like a sit down with the 3% of 18-24 year olds who claim to have never heard of Jeremy Corbyn

Barry Gardiner says a Labour Brexit would mean the UK would have a veto over the EU's trade deals, despite not being an EU member. More false promises about Brexit. This country deserves better.

In fairness, Gardiner then goes on to say they'd put that deal to the people, but that deal will never exist.
That would put us in the exact same position we're in now, (no viable deal), but we'd have simply wasted several months.

"We would have a customs union" = Same trade deals. No customs checks as the same tariffs apply either side.
"Not a rule taker" i.e. we're not in any deals we don't like.
If we can say no for ourselves, then we can say no for the EU ➡️VETO

Chakrabarti made 12 real recommendations. Corbyn said at launch he would “put his weight behind its immediate implantation”. Told BoD in 2018 public letter he would commit to its “overdue full implementation”. As far as I know, 2 have been implemented.
Anyway, it was not a good report by a long distance. The Home Affairs Committee has nothing good to say about it either

John McDonnell was (until he started back-peddling yesterday, see attached tweet) one of the few members of the shadow cabinet who appeared to make any form of conciliatory gestures to the Jewish community. But were they sincere?
As many already know McDonnell is (life?) President of the Labour Representation Committee (LRC). Who on 16 Aug ran this article on rejecting the IHRA definition. Concluding "That is the response needed to face down the attacks from the Zionists – reject their false accusation"
