It's been noted that the July 1 entry on Brett Kavanaugh's calendar shows an outing that fits the description of the party where Christine Blasey Ford says she was assaulted. People whom she says were at the party are mentioned on the July 1 entry. 
Kavanaugh was asked about the names. He said two of those names are Mark Judge and PJ Smyth -- both of whom Ford said were at the party where she was assaulted. Kavanaugh said "Timmy" is Timothy Gaudette, whose house they were going to that evening.
The yearbook for Kavanaugh's class has a page for Gaudette that lists his 1983 home address in Vienna, Va. That's across the Potomac River from where Kavanaugh and Judge lived and from where Ford says the attack happened (near the Columbia Country Club in Chevy Chase, Md.).
So if the assault was on July 1 -- an "if," of course -- Gaudette's Vienna house is an unlikely location because it was far from the area where Ford says the assault happened. A possibility: Kavanaugh and Judge first stopped at a party in their area on the way to Timmy's.
Ford has stated the party where she was assaulted was a small and early one, before its participants went to bigger parties. The event at Gaudette's may fit the description of such a later party. The Washington Post has a good story about some of this. washingtonpost.com/politics/2018/…
Gaudette and Kavanaugh had commonalities. On his yearbook page, Gaudette lists the football team, which Kavanaugh was on, and mentions 100 kegs and Renate alumni, which were on Kavanaugh's page, too. He also mentions "Alcoholics Unanimous," which was on Mark Judge's page.
In just the past few hours, journalists have done a good job piecing together some things, but there is much that is not known. If journalists can do this amount of work in such a small amount of time without subpoenas, imagine what an FBI investigation might do.
