Yes, be angry at mainstream media outlets that disgraced themselves over the past 2 weeks, but be more angry at the Democrat Party. The appalling state of the media is as much the fault of Dem politicians as of their own editors and writers.
Media narratives are set by the Democratic National Committee. Dem politicians and power players launch and shape stories with leaks, tips, talking points memos, and quiet conversations.
Democrat politicians use public statements to signal the media what they want, and the media provides coverage to match. Democrat Party power players are gatekeepers to media access. Party meetings in Hollywood shape popular culture.
Democrat Party leadership determines which groups are labeled "activists" or "experts," and which are automatically dismissed as "special interests." A revolving door exists between the Party and media outlets. A Party official can become a "journalist" in the blink of an eye.
So yes, the media has been an utter disgrace during the Kavanaugh debacle, but it's not just because they're "biased." They were given marching orders. The people who gave those orders are on the ballot in November. Direct your ire at them.
Media coverage WILL improve as the Democrat Party declines. It won't happen overnight, but remember, ACCESS is the most important commodity for the media. They will curry favor with whoever has power to maintain access to the elite.
Reporters are never going to LIKE conservatives. Media coverage will always be biased because of the university educations journalists receive, their messianic view of themselves, the Left's grip on pop culture, and the simple fact that Titan Government makes for good copy.
But clean out the Swamp, burn down congressional Democrats, and keep them far away from the White House, and you'll see real improvements in the quality of media coverage. The tight coordination between DNC and major media outlets will begin to unravel.
Fewer elected Democrats means fewer Party operatives strolling through the revolving door and magically becoming "journalists." A rump Democrat Party in Congress would damage the Party's ability to get media coverage on demand. They won't have anything interesting to cover.
Fewer Democrats means less chance of wobbly Republicans deciding to become media superstars by stabbing their party in the back. Never underestimate the allure of the Strange New Respect award to a certain type of GOP politician.
The media has been a clown show during the Kavanaugh late hit, but that only happened because Dems had enough political muscle to make it happen. Trim away a few more Democrat senators and they won't be able to do it next time. Media will embarrass itself less as a result.
Keep Democrats in the political wilderness long enough to breed a generation of young reporters who have never known a time when the Party was in power, and the quality of the media will improve. Shut down the fountain of corruption instead of trying to drain the pool. /end
