From today's Second Circuit hearing, Jay-Z doesn't have to fear the revival of a $7M copyright suit against him. One of the judges said to the lawyer of the man suing him:

"The problem that you have is that this case has a real stench to it."

Prosecutors claim that indicted attorney Natalia Veselnitskaya fabricated supposed findings from a mutual legal assistance treaty. @PeteBrush dug up that Russian MLAT, and it's signed by "S.A. Karapetyan."

A top Russian prosecutor with that name died in a copter crash last year.
Just as prosecutors allege, the Russian MLAT clears itself and vilifies an "Investment Company" throughout, in particular, Bill Browder's Hermitage Capital.

It should be noted that figures connected to the Prevezon case, believed to be tied to Russian organized crime, have a habit of encountering misfortune.

Manhattan U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Berman said she fabricated evidence.

Take the quote: “Impeach the motherfucker.”

It seems to me that a serious journalist should contextualize the operative verb “impeach.” The noun “motherfucker” typically requires little additional context.
For instance, how many people know that the day Rep. Tlaib made that remark, she co-wrote an op-ed with a constitutional attorney laying out the grounds they would cite?

Or that, a day earlier, her colleague Rep. Sherman announced plans to introduce articles of impeachment?

Just got out of a 2.5 hr court hearing for Garza v Azar, case abt abortion access for migrant girls that's also the only case where Kavanaugh has issued an opinion on abortion. In that opinion he said it's ok for a US govt agency to hinder abortion access for undocumented girls.
If this case makes it up to the Supreme Court—which it very well could, and soon—Brett Kavanaugh, if confirmed, would help decide it, unless forced to recuse himself, as one of the judges in today’s DC Circuit hearing pointed out.

Still early here in the hearing room, but this will be my thread for Day Two of the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation hearings. Today: Each senator on the committee gets 30 minutes for questions. If they all take their time, and none go over (ha!), that’s 10.5 hours.

Like usual, @realDonaldTrump is attacking smart black people who disagree with him. Today's installment? Saying that Jay Z and @VanJones68 should be grateful to him for low black unemployment rates.

First, Donald Trump gets zero credit for the strong economy. Take a look at these 2 charts. The recovery started 8 years ago (under a Black president).

And it was propelled forward until now because Janet Yellen insisted on pursuing true full employment.

Trump fired Yellen.
Yellen was most successful Fed chair in history. She pushed unemployment down & kept inflation low. But Trump replaced her with a less qualified man because he wanted to make his mark on the Fed.

So, his taking credit for this economy is really rich.
