/ Thread. Remember when Justin Trudeau called Peter Kent a PoS? I do. It was spun as a passionate, authentic loss of cool against a grave injustice.
/ Fast forward to life under PM Trudeau. Anyone who dares question his worldview isn’t debated with - he employs credibility destruction tactics to destroy the merit of the person making the arguement, not the argument itself.
/ Uncanadian. Fearmonger. Anti-woman. Angry. Racist. Ambulance chaser. Dog whistler. These are just a few of the paths of character assassinations he and his toadies use to weasel their way out of accountability for action.
/ I’ve watched this for a while - I’ve caught myself several times getting into a state of defence where I find myself defending myself against these tactics when I poke a sore point on their policy weakness. I decided not to do so anymore. Moreover...
/ I decided that the people who pay my salary pay be to be honest and call it as it is. Yesterday, on the Mclinclic vote, instead of defending his policy decision to vote against this motion, he did the following:
/ He called Lisa Raitt an ambulance chaser instead of rebutting the points that we’ve made - that he has the power to fix the Mclintic transfer under section 6 and 96 of the Corrections and Conditional Release Act. That other Liberal ministers have already done so.
/ Nor did he provide rationale that he more directly meddled in the justice system in the Boushie case, but was using the argument that he could do nothing here.
/ Then, instead of apologizing to Lisa, he doubled down. I watched the smug, arrogant countenance he carried as he looked past Lisa while she asked for an apology. Then, I watched him rush out of the House while his entire caucus, whipped, voted against the motion.
/ Then, while Rodney Stafford was in Ottawa pleading to him to take action, he chose to double down on his ambulance chaser comments to media in the hallway outside the chamber while the vote was taking place.
/ I have just laid out a pretty darn strong case as to why Justin Trudeau was a disgusting coward yesterday. I stand by that comment, and would shout it from a rooftop again, right now. And why?
/ Because it’s true. Not voting on that motion and his comments to Lisa with both disgusting and cowardly. He should apologize. He should take action to bring justice to Rodney Stafford and others like him.
/ Also, based on my own lived experience, our prime minister and those around him can’t handle a woman who challenges him. This is the sexism of the left - they feel their sanctimony gives them a free pass, that there’s nothing to fix. Yet here we are.
/ So, I am more than happy to keep serving my community by fighting that disgusting coward day in and day out. He can keep try to silence and cow me and millions of others who feel the same way but he won’t succeed. What would be more productive on his part....
/ Is to occasionally put a policy position of some rationality out there, better understand his role as a public servant, and once in a while put the needs of the country ahead of his worldview or his own ego. Peace out.
