Each of my kids has gotten into an argument about Kavanaugh with a boy in their grade this week. By their accounts, both of them won.
The eleven-year-old cornered a kid she'd heard supported Kavanaugh, and he told her he had a bet with three other kids over whether any evidence against him would emerge.
She said, "How about the fact that he committed perjury multiple times?" His response, according to her, was a quiet "bye" as he walked away.
The fifteen-year-old's fracas was much longer and rowdier, and apparently invovled several girls rhetorically whaling on one increasingly beleaguered boy.
(And just for the record, since I haven't mentioned it in a while, I don't share these stories without the kids' permission.)
Been thinking about these stories all afternoon and evening, particularly the fact that in each case groups of girls (and in one case one boy) were backing each other up, visibly and vocally, in public.
