A little thread I will call Plans, Plans, Plans. In the wake of @CareQualityComm #StateofCare I was asked onto @bbcsolent so I did some hasty research...
The @CareQualityComm had done one of its lical system reports on Hampshire/Isle of Wight and it lists the Plans that it was told about...
There was the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Health and Care System STP Delivery Plan 👍...
And the Frimley Health and Care System STP Delivery Plan 👏...
And the Hampshire Integration and Better Care Delivery Plan. And the Portsmouth and South East Hampshire Accountable Care System Improvement Plan/Local Delivery System Transformation Plan 😬
And the Urgent and Emergency Care Plans. Not forgetting the Hampshire Integrated Intermediate Care Plan Model. 😴
So what did system leaders tell the @CareQualityComm ?
‘System leaders recognised they needed to ensure consistency between plans.’
‘System leaders told us that the plethora of delivery plans and accountability mechanisms around them complicated the system,’ said @CareQualityComm
Meanwhile, said @CareQualityComm , the majority of people in local organisations from whom we heard said organisational and personnel changes had sliwed progress towards integration...
‘Plans did not always set clear targets,’ said @CareQualityComm dryly. ‘As a result it was difficult to demonstrate impact on the wellbeing of older people.’
Luckily, this will all be tackled by the NHS Long Term Plan.
Which, of course....
... will then be taken out to all STPs. So that they can make new local plans.🎉🎉🎉
