the worst kinds of people are the ones that, rather than violating a rule outright, attempt very frequently to test just how far they can take the rule, and then cry foul when their shit invariably gets them punted

case in point a certain large discord i happen to run had an off topic channel because, well... yeah

certain not-quite-nsfw art kept getting linked in there, and i said "ok, so now it's explicit: no more sex/nudity/any crap like that"

you would think that an off topic channel in a discord about weird shit left over in video games would be chill, but no. this was just before the bowsette meme /really/ took off and you can guess what ended up getting posted in there

was it *technically* violating the rule? no, but

well look for yourself, christ.

anyway this is but one example by user E. they posted a handful of other things as well

also some other user did this just beforehand, which i apparently missed

again, off-topic channel in a very niche discord about weird cut shit in games, and this is what's posted there

holy shit i'm reading through the final messages user "E" posted (their username will get posted soon because it's annoying to remove those) but just good fucking lord this person NEVER SHUT UP ABOUT IT

shoutouts to @notrevenant for giving this clown multiple "this is your serious final last warning" chances and this dbag /still/ blowing every single one of them

in retrospect it's really obvious this was a troll attempt and we should've punted him, but here's a fun little secret:

eientei95 used to be an admin of the wiki!

we removed them (after multiple warnings and chances...) because they were a huge asshole to people, repeatedly.

anyway we banned him and he immediately dropped the name and key to the tcrf staff irc channel in the main chat, so, what a real stand-up guy, huh

anyway long story short moderation is difficult and as hard as it might be, if someone is giving you consistent problems and trying to gotcha you into some rules lawyer bullshit

punt em. just a big ol boot to the head. ain't got TIME for that shit.
