If you're part of an ideology that looks at a Nazi riot and thinks, "it is the people fighting the Nazis who are the true problem," guess what you are?
When Nazis show up, you find out what your reaction to Nazis is.

A lot of people's reactions to Nazis last time was to find common cause with them, you know.

They weren't specially good or bad. But that was their reaction.

It appears to be one of the common reactions.
What I mean when I say they weren't specially good or bad is that they were just regular people. But, for whatever reason, they found it within themselves to make common cause with evil.

It's pretty obviously a common human reaction.
I think this was the first thing I wrote that I saw turned into a meme. I'll quote it again here:
Say Antifa & Proud Boys use violence equally. Untrue, but what if we just wrote that argument off?

The Proud Boys want to create a white-ethnostate in which women are possessions.

Antifa wants to stop them.

A decision to focus on tactics over intent isn't a neutral one.
This was Elie Wiesel's lesson for us, taken from the horrific aftermath of last century, and the decision of Many Fine People to make common cause with evil.

It's been my guiding light for the last 3 years.
People in our country quoted it frequently back when the Nazis were something that *happened* instead of something that's *happening,* back when we were the heroes who stopped them instead of the racists who inspired them in the first place.
Many Fine People in this country have been doing nothing but betray those words lately.

We must always take sides.

We must.

ALWAYS.

Take sides.

Not taking a side is not a neutral act.

When Nazis arrive, you find out what your response to Nazis is.

Watch.
This is the post I wrote that contains the quote from earlier in the thread. I wrote it in early January 2017, a few days before Trump took office.
