Whenever Trump shouts “Fake News”, he invokes the memory of Adolph Hitler, who originated the smear.
Hitler would shout “LugenPresse” as an effective propaganda ploy intended to undermine a free press.
It also was used as an Anti-Semitic trope.

1. One under-investigated factor in weaponised Russian sponsored propaganda during #Brexit and #Trump is the transfer of cash to propagandists via the various botnets controlled by Putin allies.
2. Twitter and Facebook have (reluctantly) revealed the accounts they know were paid for by the Internet Research Agency, Olgino, Petersburg. But we can expect there to be many more
3. There are reported to be several troll farms in Russia. There are also reports of paid trolls in Romania and Bulgaria. And of course there are countless fake news sites in the US and UK. But how are they paid for?
