One thing people like as-Sudais do is equivocate between the status of Mecca and Medina with the political entity called Saudi Arabia. In this misguided sermon, he makes any criticism of the Saudi government equivalent to an attack against the sanctity of Mecca and Medina.
Even in other appearances by as-Sudais and many of these government stooges masquerading under the garb of scholars, they always talk about Saudi Arabia being the landing place of Revelation, as if this British colonialist product of a nation existed for over 1450 years.
In Islam being a scholar means absolutely nothing in terms of one's status with God if their heart is corrupt. If anything, it will be used as proof against them as the Beloved ﷺ told us about two of the first people to enter Hell: a reciter of the Quran and a scholar of Islam.
Don't be fooled by someone being appointed as an imam anywhere, even if it happens to be in Mecca and he happens to be standing in front of the Ka'ba. Remember that the Beloved ﷺ prayed the funeral prayer for a known hypocrite. That man is still going to burn in Hell.
