Update on the Census citizenship questionnaire case: DOJ Civil Rights Division Acting AAG John Gore's deposition will take place on Friday. Other outstanding depositions, with the exception of Sec. Ross (whose deposition is on hold by SCOTUS order) will take place by Sunday.
DOJ, meanwhile, is asking for the Census case trial to be put on hold — in large part b/c of comments made in Gorsuch's partial dissent from Monday night. DOJ filed a letter — documentcloud.org/documents/5018… — making the stay request on Tuesday. Here is DOJ's summary of it today:
