During the Obama Administration, a senior level inter-agency group was formed, led by US Attys, to ensure domestic terrorism received priority attention. I don’t know if that group is still meeting, but it needs to be reconvened immediately & given the resources it needs.
Sharing intelligence & mapping trends is critical. Coordinating with groups, like @splcenter provides additional intelligence. Although law enforcement can’t prevent every criminal act, resources matter and if domestic terrorism gets the priority it should have, we can be safer.
Last thing I’ll say, priorities matter. Setting politically motivated priorities like zero tolerance for migrants seeking asylum misallocates resources away from the greatest threats. Domestic terrorism by white supremacists & anti-Semites isnt a new threat & its a serious one.
