Apple pulled Apollo from the App Store for charging for Push Notifications saying: provides

"your IAP subscription product provides access to built-in Push Notification capabilities, which is not appropriate for the App Store”
2/ Warning, I’m pissed.

This is f’ing bullshit trash. The IAP is for server-side push, but *even if it wasn’t this is trash*.

Apple is policing guys like us for this ticky tap crap when everyone making sustainable money is using scam IAP's.
3/ You’re allowed to scam people out of $150 with $3/week trick IAP screens that’s only option are “Continue” or “Subscribe” with a tiny X for close in the corner.

But you can’t charge for server-side push. NO!
4/ Friggin YouTube’s premium subscription at $15/week is for BACKGROUND AUDIO. But nooo, that’s not breaking the rules because they are a big company.

If you are a scam app or a big ass company you can break all the rules. This is the ENTIRE POINT of a walled garden.
5/ You have to protect users from the asshats that show up anywhere there is money from scamming people. Nope, not gonna do that, $150/year for weather is FINE. $8/week for live wallpapers is FINE.

We’re too busy over here policing Indie apps.
6/ If you aren’t aware, here.

Wallpapers for $8/week, FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS a year for wallpapers. With no exit button. Passes right through app review, no issue! Good luck scammer! Go make money.
7/ Here’s the weather one. $3/week scam. I have it on good authority that both these apps make $500 THOUSAND dollars...

Wait for it

PER MONTH.

Good job App Review!! 👏 Thank god you are saving us from Apollo!
8/ There are a ton of these. Go look at any Apalon or TinyLabs app. They are purposefully borderline as close to complete scams as possible so they have plausible deniability to whatever App Store rep they have because they make so much $$$.
9/ $100/year subs, push notifications out the wazzoo for their other free apps, showing purchase popups multiple times over and over to get accidental subs.

BUT NO WE ARE GOING TO POLICE THE LITTLE ONE MAN SHOPS. Wouldn’t want them breaking any rules!
10/ YouTube you can break the rules, scammers you can break the rules, but everyone else → we’re going to grill your apps so friggin hard.

BETTER NOT USE OUR EMOJIS!!! Immediate rejection. Phew, that god we avoided that potential issue.

Carry on with your scams now.
11/ How to make money on the App Store:

Scam
Cross Promote
Trick
Be really big so Apple let’s you break any rule
Push notify (using our built in function that APOLLO isn’t allowed to use!) to promote your ⭐️FREE! ⭐️ clock app
12/ I just can’t. I know that was barely coherent, sorry. Even if Apple reverses I don’t give a shit. You guys don’t know, these rules are broken every second, by the bad guys, making $500k per MONTH. Every second. But they police THIS shit. What a crock.
13/ Users will stop buying subscriptions.

“I got scammed $250 for for weather, warning friends, don’t buy subscriptions! All developers are greedy."
14/ The scammers are on their private islands having cashed in on user trust and Apple trust. And we are left with users that avoid subscriptions like the plague, ruining the only viable business model left in the stupid App Store. Back to popup ads!
15/ We’re taking our time building quality apps and totally new functionality in someone’s pocket… to be left with no way to make a living on it… while the assholes are retired because they innovated on scams.
16/ And Apple just lets it happen. All this review that COULD do the right thing, not only does it not, but then they pull this shit where they police the good guys with nitpicks. Give me a break. What a shame. What a missed opportunity to use the walled garden for users benefit.
17/ I’m done. (I think.) I literally have to go back to making apps.

Again, even if Apollo used local push and even if they reverse this, that changes nothing. App Review is still a sham; actually worse than a sham.
18/ Also true #1, if Apollo didn't have a following - he'd be super screwed. I've personally spent MONTHS convincing app review of trivial bullshit.

Also true #2, users are already hesitant to pay for ANYTHING because of sub scams.
19/ Thank you for all the appreciation. Did not expect that.
