In its 56-page decision, the court found that the prosecution failed to prove its case beyond a reasonable doubt.
Pakistan media reports indicate that Islamist groups are launching protests and blocking roads throughout the country in response to the court's ruling. A prominent cleric has called for the army to rise up against the gov't, and 1 Islamist party is calling for ouster of the PM.
At least two government officials have been assassinated after speaking out in her case.

Pakistan has done everything in its power to erase the Indianness off of its history and culture. Yet, two things that continue to define what Pakistan is today are derived from two little towns in India that even Indians probably know little about.
The town of Baraily in Madhya Pradesh gives us the Pyaaray Pyaaray Meethay Barailvi bhai of the Land of Five rivers, lead by their Maulvis Pen di Siris. Barailvi make up some 60-70% of Sunni Islam of Pakistan. Barail is where Khadim Hussain Rizvi get their inspiration from.
The town of Deoband in Utter Pradesh gives us the Macho Deobandi Islam of the north-west which comes in handy for the Pakistani state for its Jihad enterprises - all the name of national security and strategic depth, I must add.

It bears remembering that two senior members of Pakistan’s government were assassinated, including the only Christian cabinet minister, for speaking out about Asia Bibi’s case and how blasphemy laws were used to target the country’s religious minorities.
