If you compare Canadian news to the US the amount of times there are murders and violence on the news is ridiculous.

@gonzalezderwin @GatrosBlake @AP @ClevelandScene Predominantly black men are shown as suspects to crimes constantly; it contributes to people wanting to have guns to protect themselves.It also contributes to the way society views black men.

@gonzalezderwin @GatrosBlake @AP @ClevelandScene It contributes to how you feel about people from other races and cultures. You only see the extremists which then inspires fear.

All you hear on the news is negative. It's all based on fear that is fed to you.

@gonzalezderwin @GatrosBlake @AP @ClevelandScene This is why people feel so strongly about their guns. They feel the need to constantly protect themselves.

We still have murders and crimes in Canada. We honestly aren't that different, but our culture is not based in fear.

When it comes to why mass shooting happens,

@gonzalezderwin @GatrosBlake @AP @ClevelandScene I'm honestly not sure if there is anything to do about it, until you try to understand how the US is different than other countries.

@gonzalezderwin @GatrosBlake @AP @ClevelandScene Say you get better gun control laws. It's not going to make that much difference until you get to the root issues.
