The Trump admin cut the advertising budget for the ACA by 90%.

FOIA obtained emails show this was knowingly designed to harm enrollment, and they repeatedly lied about that fact.

Dem House oversight puts an end to the sabotage. Remember what they did when they had the power.
On a call w/ reporters, in response to whether HHS had studied the efficacy of advertising, an official said, “We haven’t done a specific study related to the public awareness of the program.”

It was a lie. They had, & knew it would harm enrollment.

Reminder that the acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker is a former tight end for the Iowa Hawkeyes.

He was opposed to the Mueller investigation in August 2017 & he will not be recused from any investigations.

Trump also considered him to replace Don McGahn recently.
As far as all the Jeff Sessions bashing goes. Jeff appointed Whitaker for this exact reason. He was forced to recuse himself from the Russian investigation after he was made a target for his interactions during the campaign. It gave Sessions the space to work on other issues.
Jeff Sessions had a specific mission from the start and he quietly went about his business strengthening our borders, attacking MS-13, and cracking down on trafficking. He did his job but was "damaged goods" in the eyes of many due to his recusal.

Whitaker, who will likely now be in charge of the Mueller investigation, was hired by Sessions a month after he published this CNN op-ed criticizing Mueller and saying the probe should be curtailed.
The emphasis of Whitaker's CNN article, in which he argued that Rosenstein should order Mueller to limit the scope of the investigation, was Trump's financial affairs and those of Trump's family. Whitaker argued that those should be off limits.
