Democrats protesting other Democrats over fucking climate change legislation that even when passed will never make it through the Senate in any form and even if it did would earn an instant veto by Trump.

This really makes us look like a unified, reasonable party with our priorities in order that Americans, looking to shed the chaos of Trump, should turn to as the alternative.

2020 is going to come fast @Ocasio2018. We need to establish trust with the electorate.

If we don't we might be asking voters to choose between a chaotic mess that they've possibly grown inured to, and one that looks like a pile of bills flying at them in an uncertain / broken economy.

THAT'S the way Trump or whomever is representing the Republicans then, wins.

Stop fake protesting for the cameras @Ocasio2018 , you're impressing far fewer people than you imagine you are.

The people who are cheering and high fiving? That's your base.

And if they are all you are ready to play to or for then you are no better than Trump.

If you don't think that @HillaryClinton or the people around her, many of whom were brilliant & socially conscious POC, didn't know of or understand the data you're referencing then you know nothing of HRC.

You certainly don't seem to recall the finer details of 2016 and, despite your claims to understand the particular pressures she was under, refuse to give those pressures their proper due.

In an election filled with fake news & populist hyperbole from the far right & left..

I totally disagree.

I've listened to @HillaryClinton speak passionately about race for three decades.

Race and racism were a central focus of her 2016 campaign.

She didn't speak about it just every once in awhile @amikegreen, she spoke about it every single day of the campaign.

In fact, race and criminal justice was the topic of her first policy paper for the campaign, which she presented in April 2015.

She would be introduced as the legitimate President of the United States, and she would introduce the nominee and pass the mantle to her / him.

Just returned from Bangkok, where nations made little progress towards finalising the Paris agreement on climate change that aims to limit global temperature rises over the next 80 years.

It was my first @UN #climate change rodeo and there were a few things I wasn't aware of
Under Paris, countries agreed to a fairly detailed set of promises to keep global temperature rises under 2C by 2100.

It was the first time all nations - both developed and developing economies - signed up to the same set of climate rules. But they weren't binding
Parties gave themselves in effect 3 years to come up with a text agreed by everyone, ratified, and translated into national law on a state-by-state basis. The idea is the accord isn't legally binding, but the rulebook it provides could be on a national level

Good questions @RedsforNamesake. If confronting #climate change is your priority, it is imperative to ramp up carbon-free energy asap.

1. NJ will now ramp up renewable energy from 13% in 2017 and 20% by 2020 under old RPS to 35% by 2025 & 50% by 2030. Impressive leadership.
2. To ensure that this new clean energy replaces fossil fuels and contributes to #climate mitigation goals, NJ's new laws also make payments to ensure the continued operation of 3 South Jersey nuclear reactors that currently supply 31% of the state's electricity consumption.
2. Cont.: That measure is essential and ensures that nearly all of the new clean energy growth over the next 12 years builds on top of the fossil-free foundation provided by the state's existing nuclear plants.
