Thread: @bdetrick @_JohnGonz @SpikeEskin @Michael_Levin @MaxOnTwitter Believe I may have found a *new slant* on the bizarre Markelle Fultz saga which involves a not normal collar (bone) and some suspiciously timed deleted accounts and articles. Process Twitter rides again.
Late last night I was reading @rich_hofmann's recent Miami game recap on @TheAthleticPHI, which goes over the painful Fultz free throw in detail. In the comments section, I see this reply by "Nick W." (let's find him). It references a post by a physical therapist from 2/14/18.
So I read the whole post on doctormovement.wordpress.com - as did many other readers. The reply had a lot of likes and comments and seemed to be gathering steam. I send it along to all of my crazy Process friends and go to sleep excited for today's insane speculation.
The post goes into extreme detail about Long Thoracic Nerve damage - a hard to diagnose and really specific type of shoulder/spinal/nerve issue which causes limited range of motion and creates a whole body imbalance - it has a lot of pictures to back up the theory.
But, I wake up to find that only one of my friends has read it, and the others are saying the wordpress has been deleted. It's true. So I start to backtrack to see what else I can find.
Between 1AM PST and 9AM PST, this wordpress was deleted, along with a now 9 month old article that had suddenly caught the attention of @sixers twitter. I realize that this same @doctormovement had been pushing this narrative for a long time.
Doctor Movement, whose Twitter has also been deleted (wow), was commenting on tweets by @_JohnGonz and guesting on @ThePhifthQ etc, alleging that if the @sixers would only rethink the injury, they would know how to properly rehab Fultz.
The funniest part is that Doctor Movement is from Boston, and we know that no Celtics fan is going to obsessively seek to help the @sixers, because #CUSCRISE.
So, Doctor Movement is commenting everywhere saying that he endured this exact same injury and could not find a single workable solution until... he backtracked and found out that he was treating the wrong injury. He thinks he can help Fultz.
His explanations come with ancillary images showing physical signs of this pretty uncommon injury. Thankfully this image is cached, because otherwise it'd have disappeared when his wordpress was taken down.
*me rn*, maybe we can find Doctor Movement, if only we can figure out who Pepe Silva is.
Seems extremely strange that this semi-pervasive theory spread by one guy which, on the surface, sounds plausible enough, would suddenly be erased from the internet after one vomit-inducing free throw set Process Twitter on fire. Overnight.
The only conclusion I can come to is that during the regime change, this theory was swept under the rug, but that crazy free throw busted it open. Suddenly, people are reading this article, the new regime caught wind and actually decided to look into it instead of ignoring it.
Because the symptoms and causes seem to make total sense.
"Noticeable hitches and jumps in scapular motion during arm movements" - that's from a children's orthopaedic site, not a Fultz related tinfoil hat post.
Meanwhile, Doctor Movement, whose name is Gregory Chaplin, is only on LinkedIn. I've requested to connect with him in order to find out if he was asked to erase his theory from the internet last night (11/13) between 1AM PST and 9AM PST.
So, uh, I guess TL;DR would be, who is Gregory Chaplin, and why did he suddenly cover all traces of a theory that he'd been pushing for 9 months literally overnight? Seems like the front office may *actually* be looking into this finally?
Ain't Process Twitter a hilarious, deranged joyride?!? h/t @itisRC
Followup information coming in now - the Twitter account was also deleted in the last 24 hours. Insane.
Occurring to me that this also needs to be addressed: the seeming non sequitur from @drewhanlen about Fultz's health being the determining factor rather than ability makes more sense now. What at first seemed like an attempt to dissociate himself may have been a defense of Fultz.
h/t to @LastCallSports5 for pointing this out.
My theory, by the way, is that the breadcrumb trail is being erased bc #DoctorMovement was contacted by the team to help rehab Fultz, and as a condition they asked that he remove anything with the potential to compromise progress or telegraph info to the league at-large.
By the way, this would totally validate Fultz's strange tendency to - in the only type of jumper he will currently attempt - rock his lower body forward and lean backwards into the shot. He's compensating for his inability to elevate his arm by changing his angle of release.
Wonder if there are any screengrabbable moments from his shirtless workouts with Hanlen that might show a pronounced winging of his shoulder blade. Anyone else care to help me look into this further? @AUgetoffmygold @legsanity
@wolfnick10 are you the Nick. W mentioned above?!
The comingling of this narrative with the "Fultz BMX accident" line of question is becoming more interesting. Specifically because I am now getting DMs from a locked account (@sixersenough91 - Barbara Bottini, you up?) saying that we should be looking into the BMX. ANuSlant.
As @Sharkaleptic pointed out, this for sure relates to the bizarre undershirt fit this year. Hiding the winging blade beneath a compression shirt. It gets crazier and crazier.
All things being equal, my hope in all of this (if I have one) is that the Elton regime has considered approaching this from a new angle, that Markelle gets what he needs and that his teammates continue to be outlandishly supportive. Don't want this to turn into a Kelle roast.
Goes without saying that I'm no doctor (or Doctor Movement), but there seem to be enough of them weighing in to conclude that the one thing we know for sure is that we don't know for sure. Pretty chill that I got the disgraced football doctor involved, too. IMO, still a mystery.
Okay, so my boy @slamdunkburger - who as mentioned above read the original article late last night - by some great serendipitous turn left it open on his computer all day and was able to save it in its entirety. Here is what was deleted. 1/2
2/2 For once in the history of Philadelphia, "Carbs are likely not the problem". Unfortunately, "(This is)" ––– Remember to always ask yourself why this, along with Doctor Movement's Twitter, was deleted overnight. Enjoy, folks.
