If you're unawares: Seth Abramson is just a guy who reads a lot of news and tweets theories he comes up with.

He doesn't know anything.
145/ ATTENTION: Seth Abramson has built his reputation as an expert on Twitter, and has no other relevant experience or information. We must conclude that either:
a) He is working with Twitter to sell books
b) He is a Steve Bannon front, used to discredit the #resistance...
Abramson uses journalism, which meticulously details evidence of possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, and injects plausible-sounding crowd-pleasing conspiracy theories not backed by evidence.

Understand that he is a snake oil salesman.
If you find yourself defending Abramson (as people are doing in my TL, hence why I'm belabouring this) recognize that he is exploiting your innate willingness to trust authoritative-sounding narratives that reinforce your worldview. *Just like Russia did.*
I wrote a long thing in @walrusmagazine this month about fake news, social media manipulation, and Russia. One big takeaway, reinforced by people who study Russia every day? Moscow isn't omnipotent. They're not behind every corner. They were effective because they were efficient.
People like Abramson want you to think there's some crazy plot, that implicates everyone. Because you want to believe that! You want to believe all this chaos was well-planned, and that it can be removed with impeachment proceedings. It's not that tidy.
Abramson is using the exact tactics the Russians use, knowingly or not. Don't fall for it. thedailybeast.com/before-peddlin…

I'm in Ottawa this morning, where a demonstration is planned for 11 to protest Canada's signing of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration.
Opposition has been growing to the compact, including from the Conservatives and Maxime Bernier. They've contended it'd sacrifice Canadian sovereignty on the issue — it doesn't.

Hi everyone the news is garbage but I want to tell you about Tab — Toronto's premiere smut tabloid that I spent all afternoon reader and which *I am in love with.*
Now, first off: Tab is riddled with almost-hilariously-outdated and offensive language. But unlike many other tabloids of the time (and today) it was surprisingly, as we say now, "woke." Tab's editorial line was sex positive, pro-sex work, pro-gay, and alive to trans issues!
Tab had a particular penchant for keeping tabs on police busting gay men for cruising — giving rise to the incredible pun of "pansies bloom by night."

Ok, I realize that fact-checking a political meme account is like trying to preform a lobotomy with a crayon (which seems more attractive, tbh) I nevertheless feel the need, here, because this is fucking idiotic.
First off, there's nothing "rapid" about the increase in immigration in Canada. Trudeau is increasing immigration, by 4% on average. Harper's average is ~2%.

(Note about the chart: Harper was responsible for immigration plans until 2015. Years 2018 onwards are projections.)
And what's this about a CTV headline proclaiming "Trudeau government increasing immigration to 350,000 per year"? They used no such headline. They, rightly, reporter that it would increase to 350,000 *by 2021.* Important context.

Before you drill down to sentence level, you want to look at the book as a whole. As a reader, when does it lag? When do you naturally put it down? Does your protagonist lose focus/motivation? Are there plot holes? What's not working? Look at the big picture. Fix that first. 2/
I think of edits as layers on an oil painting. With each successive edit, I go from front to back, starting with the big issues and then tightening story and then word flow with each pass. If you spend your first edit running every word through the thesaurus, you'll lose hope. 3/

Hey @NickCannon, I understand the comparison you’re trying to make between Kevin Hart and these comediennes, but as a gay guy, let me share my opinion with you. This isn’t a rant, it’s more of an explanation of why *I see a difference.
Do you remember the first time you saw someone get punched in real life? There was no sound effect ‘thwack’ like in the movies. The victim probably didn’t do a perfect movie stuntman roll. Could you feel the violence behind it? Recognize the malicious intent to inflict injury?
That’s what homophobia feels like to me. I can feel the violence. I can feel the malicious intent. There’s been a trend of LGBT allies being accused of homophobia recently. Mostly it’s jokes about Trump/Putin relationship.

Jungkook can get a little protective when it comes to people who date Yoongi. It’s always the same. Yoongi brings someone home, dates them for a week or two and then he gets bored and breaks up with them. Sometimes Jungkook quickens the process if the person turns out terrible.
He loves his brother, he really does but sometimes his taste in people were terrible. There have been a few Jungkook had to physically kick out of the house because of mistreating him or Yoongi.
