This is total rubbish served up as fodder for the Left. There's nothing radical about @johnmcdonnellMP. Tax cuts for the wealthy while leaving the benefits freeze in place; £11.2bn on student fees while leaving Sure Starts closures in place. And #Brexit. mobile.reuters.com/article/amp/id…
The worker ownership stuff was in Liberal Party menifestos in the 1960s. Paddy Ashdown also argued for it in his 1989 book, Citizens Britain. And where is McDonnell on devolution of power from the centre? Nowhere. He's a top down Whitehall levers man.
And as for banking regulation, that's part of what's needed to move us from the crony capitalism we have to the civic capitalism we need. @vincecable is arguing far more persuasively for that. It's got nothing to do with socialism.
McDonnell is conservative in his thinking on the role of the state, intolerant in his politics, a crude anti-imperialist on foreign policy, and is in favour of pouring money into the pockets of the middle class while screwing the poor.
The Che Guevara of Hayes and Harlington he is not.
