I once had a CEO who worshipped even the poo of foreigners. There’s nothing people who share his skin color can tell him about a technical issue that he would take seriously until ratified or confirmed by an albino. We warned him but he never listened until he met his Waterloo.
Oun tí a ní, n’à ngbé lá rugę - It is that which belongs to us (culturally) that we adore, embrace, sanction and reinforce. No one will love you like your own. This explains the growing Xenophobic ethno-nationalistic renaissance globally & it is creeping into our tribes now.
No civilization survives division within its own borders. Nigeria must become our tribe for us to take advantage of the power in our diversity. There’re many Northerners who were born in the south and vice versa. We depend on specific tribes for certain things based on speciality
It is like that on foreign soil. Have the best of degrees and top your class as much as you like. You can only be valuable for a season before you become a threat to the indigenous cleaners and cab drivers. Soon a generation will emerge who won’t buy into your relevance...
...it’ll start from harassment of your kids at school with the local police siding with the bullies. Soon you will be told to your face to return home to your country. Where would you start from then with all your degrees? Will you join the mental slaves in cursing people online?
What relevance exactly will you lay claims to in a country you never contributed to its development? If living abroad was an assurance of making heaven, U think the looters enslaving our youths as Online herdsmen to spread propaganda will hold on to power? There’s something here
I’ve been around, there is no country like Nigeria. We have received hundreds of foreigners as guests in Nigeria and most of them don’t ever want to leave. The pride of Nigeria and Nigerians is in our humanity not the construct of greed & division deployed by politicians.
Ask those who managed to school abroad how easy or hard it is to get jobs. I’m not talking about Canada here. If you are learned, you know how tedious it is with the consideration of others before they remember the unfortunate immigrant from Nigeria. But bring these lads home...
...after all their sacrifices abroad, the moment most of them land in Nigeria they naturalize and acclimatize with the dejected at home doing what they do and you will never notice the difference. Just look online and share my disappointment.
How can someone who have lived in a country where things work and democracy make sense, come back home and join people waiting for a tragedy to take them finally to Hell? Why would people who have no purpose in life dictate what next you should tweet about Mr Dokita Sùnmónù?
Nigeria is headed for a major shift. How you prepare for that will determine whether you will keep sojourning in a life unfit for Cattle or your shackles will finally be broken so that your full potentials will be recognized & celebrated. The choice is yours. Emancipate Yourself.
