According to the indictment, Bijan Kian conspired with a Turkish businessman to illegally influence government officials and public opinion against Gulen. Flynn was secretly working to advance the interests of his Turkish clients while publicly serving as a key surrogate to Trump
Flynn is soon to be sentenced for lying to FBI agents as part of Mueller's investigation. Prosecutors asked for no prison time for Flynn, citing his “substantial assistance.” But this case is being handled in the Eastern District of Virginia, not the special counsel.
