1) After reading @AntonioMJuliano's insightful thread I've realized that we don't do a great job communicating the longer term strategy for @0xProject. We prefer to let our work speak for us. That being said, communication is important for alignment, so here are some thoughts:
2) In the future when there are many blockchains and shards, 0x will be everywhere. We are working on a design pattern that allows a canonical system of smart contracts to be replicated across different blockchains and shards such that updates to the canonical system are...
3) ...dispatched to all replicas in a synchronized manner. This design pattern will be valuable because it will allow technical standards and corresponding governance processes to extend across web3.
4) In the future, STARKs will be used to batch together 1000s of off-chain trades. Each batch will yield a succinct proof that can be committed and verified by a smart contract on-chain in a single transaction. This will allow us to increase throughput by orders of magnitude...
5) In addition, STARKs will allow low-latency p2p off-chain trades without sacrificing decentralization: users get a decent UX without relying on dangerous centralized patterns like virtual settlement (off-chain asynchronous queues) used by IDEX and others.
6) Trade execution coordinators (TECs, basically multiplexers for txs) will provide strong guarantees around trade execution without requiring users to trust an individual entity to carry out the matching in an honest way.

1) A few thoughts on governance for decentralized networks:

The network with the "best" underlying tech, but no clearly defined governance process will either (a) become outdated/irrelevant due to inability to coordinate community for upgrades...
2) ...or (b) succumb to centralized decision making in order to remain relevant, causing significant % of users to lose trust and abandon the network for an alternative.

In other words:
governance = maybe don't die
3) The social dynamics involved in a governance process (how and where discourse takes place) are just as important as the rules and thresholds that dictate the outcome.

1) PSA to Facebook, Amazon, Netflix, Google and AirBnb employees: blockchains will completely reshape human civilization over the next 1-2 decades. Simply put, there is no other industry where your contributions will have greater impact.
2) There is a common misconception that one must have prior experience or education in blockchain technology to enter the industry. This couldn't be further from the truth. To get started, all you need is genuine passion for your craft and a desire to have an impact.
3) You don't need to be a technologist to enter the industry. We need problem solvers, product builders, designers, operators, organizers, writers and more. Don't be intimidated. No one in this industry knows what they are doing. You have an opportunity to help us figure it out.

1) Some thoughts on tokens. You can't force value into a token. Period. Grafting artificial incentives onto a token (velocity sinks or mint/burn schemes) inherently adds friction (more gas per trade) to the detriment of users.
2) Sometimes velocity sinks and other schemes are a natural byproduct of good technical/economic design...

Back in 1997 there was a landmark case in Germany that determined that people who'd labored in the Lodz Ghetto would get credit toward German Social Security for that work.

#DallasForPrez #Thoughts #Thread Our military is facing an ongoing enlistment problem and it boils down to one thing, how we treat our vets. If elected, I will be addressing this with an innovative plan that will pay for itself in savings and protect our Vets.
As a nation, we have programs on top of programs to assist our vets. They do a great job and would be more effective if they had less to do. Currently though, we’re addressing the issues facing our vets at the wrong moment in time.
Our vets need to be taken care of before they become a vet. They need to be helped before they fully transition out of the military itself. This is going to take a culture change and a reorganization of resources.
