Errrrr R&B is short term for Rhythm and Blues .. which artists have & do ....good& bad . Today especially. That’s the term. Jerry Wexler one of @AtlanticRecords foundation giants created the term while working as a writerthe @billboard race charts in 1950. #KNOWwhatyousayYouLOVE
@billboard editor PaulAckerman sent JerryWexler home to come up with the new term because RACE records was considered derogatory to a new movement of Blackfolk post World War 2. Especially in New York. Thus the Rhythm and Blues CHARTS were born ..R&B ..people #LearnYOURmusic
I mean dude (WEXLER) didn’t invent the music... just created the term ( R&B)
Like him or not @rkelly repurposed much of fellow Chicagoan SamCooke with similar runs & vocal riffs in his songs.Sounds still stuck churchified in the Chitown Air. Only the naive neophyte or non fan cares less about that fact. Got nothing to do with the law. It is what it is R&B
