There are only two choices here!! Either we accept, and even encourage, all abuse coming from the leaders of companies we like, or those companies simply cannot exit. You don't like bosses abusing workers? NO ELECTRIC CARS FOR YOU! NO IPHONE FOR YOU.
There's of course also another way: We stop protecting abusive bosses from criticism, they learn that it becomes hard to raise money/hire smart people/get good press acting as an asshole, THEY WISE UP AND CHANGE THEIR WAYS ✨
It's beyond infantilizing to presume that smart people like Musk or Jobs were at once both so capable of learning and adapting in business and technology, but utterly incapable of changing their abusive workplace behavior.
It's also horseshit people who work for executives like this must quietly endure their abuse in perpetuity because the companies would fall apart the second the abuser stepped away. Apple is still doing OK. Tesla could probably do without Musk at this point too.
Note: I'm not saying Musk can't stay at Tesla. I'm just saying: STOP GIVING HIM A PASS FOR BEING A FUCKING MANIAC TO HIS EMPLOYEES. You're providing the cover that keeps the abuse kosher. Musk is smart. He can learn not to be a fucktard towards staff. I BELIEVE IN HIM 😂
