If you have to get up at 4am to get any work done, your workplace is broken. If you’re the CEO doing this, why aren’t you fixing your broken workplace rather than running away from it?
Accepting that work can’t happen at work is productivity bankruptcy. It’s time to restructure your processes and principles. Dump your toxic liabilities and invest in some healthy habits.
Allowing work to happen at work during normal work hours is the cornerstone of how we get so much done at Basecamp. How we can get by with 50-some employees while others need 3-5x that to service the same number of customers. It’s a productivity secret hiding in plain sight.
