1/ How much value is destroyed by robocalls? If you believe some pundits it should be possible to calculate the loss of value using Metcalfe's law. Anyone who has been involved in creating networks knows the value of a network doesn't increase quadratically with # of users.
2/ The value of a network increases at a nonlinear rate, but varies based on many factors. "Metcalfe’s Law is a rough empirical description, not an immutable physical law." The flaw underlying Metcalfe’s law is assignment of equal value to all connections. spectrum.ieee.org/computing/netw…
3/ When someone claims they can calculate the "fundamental value" of a cryptocurrency based on the quadratic increase version of Metcalfe's law (n2) they are fooling themselves and others. The mathiness is fictional, but may seem credible to some people. It isn't.
